Vancouver, BC (July 9, 2021) - Search and Rescue: North Shore and Haida Modern, both Knowledge Network Original commissions, took home a collective of four Leo Awards on Tuesday night, excelling in the documentary category. Search and Rescue: North Shore won Best Series, Best Direction and Best Musical Score for a Documentary Series, while Haida Modern was awarded Best Feature Length Documentary.
BURNABY– Knowledge Network announces a multi-year commitment to partner with Indigenous, Black and People of Colour (IBPOC) documentary filmmakers. This new initiative is aligned with the Canada Media Fund (CMF) Pilot Program for Racialized Communities and Indigenous Program. Over the next three years, Knowledge Network will work with six IBPOC production companies to commission six original documentaries, either feature-length, one-hours or half-hours.

In addition to the upcoming 4-part historical documentary series, British Columbia — A History, Knowledge Network commissioned 8 half-hour compilations made up of 78 original short films that shine a light on the history, art and culture that make BC truly unique.
